Using a Sidewinder depends on the length of your truck bed, the width of your trailer and the position of the fifth-wheel hitch in the bed of your pickup. Normally the hitch is 1-1/2 inches in front of the center of the rear axle on these models of Chevy pickups. If you measure from 1-1/2 inches in front of the center of the rear axle to the back of the cab and then measure the width of your trailer and divide it by 2 you will be able to see the difference you have for turning clearance between the cab and trailer loft. Next you can add the 22 inches for the Sidewinder to the cab measurement and if you have at least 4 inches more, with the Sidewinder added, then half of your trailer width you will have room for maneuvering and pitch and roll of the trailer.

A = Distance from center of fifth wheel hitch jaw to truck cab
B = Length of Sidewinder arm, 22 inches
C = Width of trailer divided by 2 (to get half)
(A + B)-C = Clearance

The rotating turret on the Sidewinder has to be matched to your trailer specific pin box so the manufacturer and model of the pin box will be needed to order. If you can't find this information you can use the attached help guide article to determine the bolt pattern. Once we have the bolt pattern you can find the corresponding replacement. For example the # RP61412 will replace a Lippert 1116 or 1716 bolt pattern.
