Availability of a 2007 Kia Sorento Tow Package Wiring Harness

Question:

I watched you vidoe on the installation of the wiring kit 56146KIT. Why arent they using the wiring and plug already on my vehicle on the passenger side frame? Is there a kit that I can buy and just plug in?

If your vehicle has the factory tow package then you can use the Tow Package Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector, item # C56332, which will simply plug into the connector on the passenger side frame rail (see instructions).

I would recommend checking the connector with a circuit tester, item # 3808 if needed, before purchasing to be sure that all of the wiring functions are present in the connector you mentioned on your frame rail. If the vehicle is not equipped with the tow package the connectors may still be there but all of the wiring to the connectors may not be complete. In this case you would then need to order the Upgraded Modulite Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness, item # 56146KIT to wire your vehicle as you saw in the video. The vehicle in the video was not equipped with the tow package.
