Snow-Ex Salt Spreader Not Receiving Power From 7-Way Trailer Connector on Truck  

Question:

when i plug the 7-pin plug from a snow-ex SR 110 spreader into my harness on a 2500 2008 gmc duramax it doesnt get power. do I need a larger fuse and where does it go?

First thing to check would be the 7-Way on the truck using a circuit tester like part # 3808. It will be wired according to the diagram on the wiring FAQ page you were looking at. The center post, labeled auxiliary in the diagram, will probably be wired as reverse lights.

Check the instructions on the spreader to see how the 7-Way on the spreader is wired. It may be wired to get power from the center post, in which case you would have power to the spreader while in reverse.

If your truck does not have power to the pin 4 in the diagram, then you probably have to make a connection at the fuse block. You will locate a wire that is tucked on the side of the battery or behind it and connect it to the stud on the fuse block, if there are two studs, use the one closest to the driver side fender.
