Do Husky Liners Custom Rear Wheel Well Guards # HL79001 Fit Flush to the Sides of Vehicle Frame

Question:

I have a 2014 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 4X4 Duramax with the 6foot 6inch bed. I have installed the below bed SuperRail 2800 for a Pullrite Hitch Model 4100 5th wheel hitch. The plates bolt to the outside of the frame. The plate is 5/16inch and the bolts extend another 1inch for a total of 1-1/4inch to the outside of the frame. My question - Does the wheel well liner rest snug against the frame or is there some clearance between the very back side of the liner and the frame? Thanks

Thank you for providing the details and photo of your 2014 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 4X4 Duramax's 5th wheel installation.

The Husky Liners Custom Rear Wheel Well Guards # HL79001 that you referenced do fit flush against the outsides of the frame rails. (I was able to confirm this with my contact at Husky Liners.) Since your outboard brackets' mounting hardware does protrude outward from the sides of the Silverado's frame there will be at least some potential for that hardware to put pressure on the inside surfaces of the wheel well guards.

In very cold weather this might raise a concern of breakage when the low temps can cause plastics to become brittle. A potential alternative is a brush-on or spray-on undercoat that will provide some corrosion resistance like the Husky guards.
