Thule Mountaineer Cargo Box Hardware Recommendation
Question:
Hello etrailer. So, I have a Thule Mountaineer cargo box, but am not sure exactly which of the 3 models it it. It appears to have the QM3 system, but its rusting and I want to replace for mounting n a new vehicle. Do you know if the QM3 mounting system was an original mountain system or a replacement system? Ive looked on Thules website and there is no such QM3 available, nor it is listed as the replacement for any of the Mountaineer boxes. I would like to know if perhaps the Easy Fit System will work for my box. Is it possible that the QM3 is a universal replacement, but East Fit may be an option? *I cant find a serial number or model number on my box, but there is a sticker that says Traceability Label - 05/16/03 - BP s2 #04829 oven# 4inch on the box. Please advise. THANKS!

If you have the version of the Thule Mountaineer that uses the QM3 installation hardware then the only replacement hardware I can safely recommend for you would be to get the Thule Quick Mount QM3 # TH04997 that you referenced. Any other hardware kit would require modification to the box that would void the warranty.
