Troubleshooting Boat Trailer Taillights that Work with Chevy Trailblazer but not 2013 Ford Edge
Question:
I installed a curt wiring harness 56120 per specifications on my 2013 Ford Edge Limited the lights on my utility trailer work fine when hooked up but my boat trailer lights do not. The boat lights work fine when hooked up to my 2003 Trailblazer. Why would the Edge lighting harness work on one but not the other?

Helpful Expert Reply:
It sounds like the problem is a weak ground on your boat trailer. I would check the grounds of the boat trailer and make sure they are attached to a clean metal surface of your boat trailer free of corrosion.
Some vehicles are more sensitive to ground problems than others and that may be why one vehicle works while the other doesn't.
I attached an FAQ on trailer wiring for you to check out.
