Troubleshooting Brake Controller Install in a 2008 GMC Yukon Denali
Question:
Hi, I followed the instruction for installing the Prodigy P2 break controller based on my previous question and response below: After completing the installation, I connected the wiring harness to the P2 and saw the following flashing in the display: .c. . I then turned on the power and it stopped flashing and remained solid at: .c. . I then proceeded to Step 2, where it says to hold the manual level left to set the power to 6.0 . However, when I did this, the display went blank and I cant seem to get it back. Ive tried disconnecting the trailer harness and also the wiring harness to the P2 and also have tried turning on the car with no luck. I also tried to just connect the P2 with the car off and also with just the switch open but car off, and still I cannot get the display to light up again. What could be causing the display to not come on again? I just installed the kit today, although I ordered it a few weeks ago and was sitting in my garage. Thanks in advance.

It sounds like you blew a fuse under the hood of your 2008 GMC Yukon Denali while installing the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. I would check all the fuses in the fuse boxes to see which one blew and replace as necessary.
When wiring up the controller you may have shorted out one of the circuits and that's what blew the fuse. I would recommend you check out the condition of all of the connections you made to install the P2 to see if there is any exposed wire that would have caused the short and fix as necessary.
