Aloha, I bought a 79 CJ5 or so I thought but the VIN is J0M83EC000716. If I am correct, that is a 1980s VIN code. The reason I am asking is because I would like to order a Windjammer for it. Can you please help me figure this one out. Thank you.

You are correct. You most likely have a 1980 Jeep that was bought in 1979 by the original owner. The Serial number is low 716, so it was most likely produced just after the model change in late summer of 1979, but is a 1980 model.
