Will a Surco Safari Basket Fit a 2014 Ford Flex
Question:
Looking for confirmation that the Surco Safar Rack is compatible with the factory rails on the 2014 Ford Flex, which are about 45inch apart. Since this is the same width as the cargo basket itself, I wondered if the brackets could be slid far enough apart to fit.

Surco only has fit information for the Ford Flex up to the 2012 model year. If the 2014 happens to be exactly the same then you will actually need Safari Basket # SPS4560 and installation adapter # SPCH100 according to Surco. This adapter fits in channels in the side rails on the Ford Flex.
If your Flex has raised side rails then you could use a Safari basket with the clamp-on adapters such as # SPS4550-1101. But you may need to go with a wider basket to ensure fit such as # SPS5060-1101 which is 50 inches wide.
