LED Brake Light Shuts Off Active Blind Spot Assist on my 2014 Mercedes-Benz
Question:
I purchased an Oval LED Pilot Light Trailer Hitch and a 7 way to 5/4 way trailer adapter for towing trailers with LED lights by Curt from you. When I plug in the adapter and light I get a message on my ML350 Mercedes dash that my Active Blind Spot Assist is deactivated. I had hope to use the LED light as an additional brake light when not towing. Now I dont know if I should drive with my Active Blind Spot Assist off or drive with the extra trail light? Got any suggestions. Thanks

When you plug anything into the 4 way connector on the back of your 2014 Mercedes-Benz, the vehicle can not determine what is connected so it assumes it is a trailer. If a trailer was connected, the Active Blind Spot Assist could go off continuously if it sensed the trailer on the back of your vehicle. This is why your system deactivates when you plug in the Adapter, # C35FR, and LED Brake Light, # FHG72VR.
It is strictly a personal preference as to whether the Active Blind Spot Assist or the extra tail light is more beneficial.
