What Weight Rating on a Trailer Should be Used to Transport a 5,200 lb Tractor

Question:

If I have a tractor that weighs 5200 lbs. What is the minimum size tandem utility trailer do I need 3,500, 5,000, 6,000 or 7,000 lbs axles?

Your trailer axles will have to carry the weight of the 5,200 lb tractor plus the weight of the trailer. So if your trailer weighs 1,800 lbs then a trailer with 7,000 lbs of axle capacity would be required.

The trailer should have a weight rating listed on it that will tell you how much it can carry. You would want to find a trailer that can carry at least 5,200 lbs.
