Measuring Childs Bike to See if Thule Frame Adapter Bar # TH982XT Will Work

Where/how do you measure on a childs bike to see if the adapter will fit?

Each of the frame adapter bars will list a minimum width. You can measure the distance between the handlebar gooseneck and the seat post as seen in the accompanying photo. The distance you measure would need to be longer than the minimum distance of the frame adapter bar you choose.
For instance, the minimum width of the Thule # TH982XT is 16 inches. In order for the adapter to work on your bike, the gooseneck to seat post dimension on your bike would need to be greater than 16 inches.
