Where Does a Brake Controller Plug in on a 2014 Ford Explorer with Factory Tow Package

I have the Ford model plug but cannot locate the port to plug it into.

If your 2014 Ford Explorer came with a factory installed 4-Way trailer connector then the brake controller port is likely not installed on the vehicle. If if came with a 7-Way from the factory then it will be there.

Locating the plug can be tricky. But on a 2014 Ford Explorer the plug should be located behind the hood release handle. You may need to fish around for it.

If your 2014 was a very early model in the production run they may have put it behind the driver side kick panel like they did on the 2013 models.
