Trailer Hitch to use the Swagman Quad 2+2 Bike Rack with a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo

What hitch would you recommend for a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo if I were to also purchase the Swagman Quad 2+2? I want to make sure that I will have enough clearance to fold it up. Thanks.

For your 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee I recommend Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 75699. When we installed this hitch on a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to clear the back of the vehicle was 4-1/4 inches.

On the Swagman Quad 2+2 # S64FR from the center of the hitch pin hole it measures:

17-1/4 inches to closest wheel tray
23 inches to closest upright mast
9-1/4 inches to rack body when folded down
9 inches to rack body when folded up
10 inches to where the shank goes up vertically

Since all of these measurements are greater than 4-1/4 inches there should not be any interference with the back of the vehicle.
