What are the correct Trunnion Bars to Go From 1200 lb Spring Bars to 600 lb Spring Bars

Question:

I started with a 1200 lb. Reese Dual Cam Anti Sway head and bars the style without the turnbuckle. I have replaced the 1200 lb bars with 600 lb. The problem is the trunnion pins are different sizes on the 600 lb spring bars. Both bars are 1 1/8 square. But the pins on one are 7/8 and the other bars pins are 1. The part number on the Reese stickers is the same 23227. The cast numbers differ. 22210-0 and an 11 and 22210-E and a 3. The 11 and the 3 are stamped over the square hole. The larger pins fit the head properly. The bar with the small pins must be set with fewer links on the lift chain causing a twist in the set up. I would like to order one or the other trurnnion head to make a matched pair. Which one do you suggest?

You should be able to go to the 600 pound weight distribution spring bars with the Replacement Trunnion and Pin for Reese 600 and 800 lb Trunnion Style Weight Distribution, item # 58098. As long as the end of the spring bars that go into the trunnion head are 1-1/8 inch square this should remedy the problem you are having with twist. You may need to adjust the angle of the weight distribution head somewhat (see instructions link) to get the chain setup to your liking.
