Will Thule Passage 2 Bike Trunk-Mount Carrier # TH910XT Fit 2014 Honda Accord
Question:
Im trying to find a trunk-rack that will carry two mountain bicycles, that can be mounted to the current Honda Accord Sedan 2013 - 2014 . I tried one, but didnt like how the bottom rested over the license plate and not the car covering it up. Additionally the plate is only secured with two bolts. Thanks,

The Thule Passage 2-Bike Trunk-Mount Carrier # TH910XT that you referenced is a confirmed fit on your 2014 Honda Accord Sedan. I verified this through both our own fit guide and the Thule online fit guide.
Trunk-mount bike carriers mounted on typical passenger vehicles typically use the upper tier of the rear bumper as the mounting location for the lower arms of the carrier. This means that the rear license plate well becomes the contact point. The linked video, showing this rack in use on a 2012 Honda Civic, illustrates the installation method and mounting location.
In actual use the 6 attachment straps included with the Passage 2 will carry a good portion of the total weight load, so not all of the carrier's and bikes' combined weight will be on the license plate well.
If you prefer a 2-bike carrier that will not rest on the bumper you have the option to use a trailer hitch receiver along with a hitch-mount type rack. A good starting point will be the three linked articles that review bike racks in general and hitch-mount racks in particular. These may help your decision about which type will best suit your needs.
We do offer one light-duty Class I hitch for you Accord, part # C11681 from Curt, which has a maximum tongue weight rating of 200-lbs. This class of hitch can carry 2 bikes, but not more than 2, even if the carrier can hold more bikes. With this hitch bolted into place on your Accord you can choose a Class I hitch-mount carrier such as one of those shown on the provided link. A good choice for use with mountain bikes (that have wide handlebars) is the Curt # C18085 which offers a foot of clearance from the hitch pin hole.
With this rack you can use hitch lock # e98879 to secure the rack to your hitch and cable lock # e98891 to lock your bikes to the rack.
