Rooftop Bag Recommendation for 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe with Factory Crossbars

Question:

I have a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe with the factory cross bars. I am searching for a rooftop bag that I can use with the cross bars. The bars at their fullest width are 32 inches measured front to back from interior of the bars about 26 and the width between the rails is about 38 inches. So the bars as they are seem ridiculously close together considering the size of most bags. Is there anything you can recommend for this model? I also happened to see the Foldable carrier that sits on top of the rails, but Im unsure if that would be safe? Any advice would be appreciated!

The Rightline Range 2 # RL100R20, would be a great option for a roof cargo carrier on your 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe. This carrier measures 40 inches x 36 inches x 18 inches with 4 tie down straps to secure the bag to the crossbars, rails, or door jambs. As for size, these bags are made to be very universal. You should have no problems when securing this bag to the roof as the bag will sit over the crossbars and will lie in front, behind, and between for a secure hold.

Before mounting the Rightline Bag on your roof, I recommend washing the vehicle roof and cleaning the bottom of the bag to prevent scratching the vehicle's paint. Applying a coat of wax would give added protection against scratching.

In order to prevent damage to the roof of your vehicle, you never want to exceed the roof load carrying capacity. This information can usually be found in your vehicle's owner's manual.

To make loading and unloading the bag much easier, I recommend the use of our Wheel Mounted Tire Step, # HE4040.
