Hi Paul,

To replace the water heater on your Sunchaser travel trailer, I definitely recommend a tankless water heater. Reason why is these give you hot water immediately so you don't have to wait around for it get hot, and because they save a ton of energy.

The majority of RV water heaters nowadays are going to be tankless as they're just a better product than heaters with tanks, so it's the way to go. The most reliable option for this is from Furrion, and their heaters will fit compartments that are at least 12-3/4" wide, 12-5/8" tall, and 23-1/2" deep. You'll also want to find one that matches your door cutout as much as you can, though if there isn't one with the exact same size door, you'll have to make some modifications to resize the door. Here are the options, with the heaters all being the same size but for the door:

- Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater - 16" x 16" Door # FR98SR

- Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater - 16" x 18" Door # FR48SR

- Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater - 18" x 18" Door # FR68SR

Hi Kyle, Thank you for the information. We are selling our trailer and would like to know if there are less expensive water heaters. Thank you.

@PaulB So for the least expensive option you'd need the Excel RV Tankless Water Heater # EX93FR. This heater will give up to 96 gallons of hot water an hour (compared to the Furrion's 144) and can only be used for one thing at a time, so it can't be used quite the same way as the larger water heaters, but can still get the job done.
