For your customer's 2024 Mercedes GLS450, I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Wiring Harness item # RED52VR. This is a proportional brake controller that will engage the trailer's brakes when your customer's Mercedes decelerates. It activates immediately and is not time delayed.
The Tow-Pro Liberty item # RED52VR has a unique installation method that allows you to mount the main control unit out of sight behind your dash. The only part visible is the control knob. This means no bulky controller to bang your knee on while driving. This is especially important when you consider the knee airbags on the GLS450.
The tow package on the 2024 Mercedes GLS450 is deceiving because they don't included a port to plug in a brake controller. You'll need to hardwire one in which is why our fitguide only shows Bluetooth controls like the Curt Echo Item # C51180, which your customer is not interested in. The wiring harness that is included with item # RED52VR will allow you to splice into the Mercedes's existing wiring to complete the install.
