How to Choose Correct Trailer Axle
Question:
Need to replace an original M416 Trailer axle. Never done this before. What information/measurements is are to decide on axle? Thanks

Hello James,
In order to choose the correct replacement axle for your trailer you will need to know the dimensions of your current axle's hub face to hub face and spring center to spring center; I have added a link below to a video which walks you through how to measure. The other thing you need to know is the weight capacity of the axle you need, which should match or exceed the GVWR of your trailer.
Just as an example, the Dexter Trailer Axle # T20BTR-7258 has a 2,000 lb capacity and measures 72 inches from hub face to hub face and 58 inches from spring center to spring center.
