Troubleshooting A Swagman Chinook Bike Rack That Isn't Slotting Into A 1-1/4" Receiver Tube

Question:

I ordered a draw tite class 2 hitch with 1-1/4 receiver and a swagman chinook rack 1-1/4. Rack won’t slide all the way for the holes to line up. The swagman js supposed to fit class 1,2 and 3 receivers. Any ideas? Maybe I just need to push in harder… Swagman item s64683 Draw tite 36530 Thanks

Hey Dean,

The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 36530 has a 2" spacing from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back end of the receiver tube so it should have more than enough space for the shank of the Swagman Chinook Bike Rack # S64683. I would check the receiver tube to see if there's some overspray or weld spatter inside of the receiver tube preventing the shank from fully slotting into place. Are there are any scratches on the shank of the bike rack?
