Jayco Eagle 291RSTS Slide Out Making Popping Noise and Being Uneven
Question:
Last year, I had to put in a New Schwintek rail system on the Fixed side of my Jayco Eagle 291RSTS slide. I replaced everything in the Kit. blocks/bearings/gears The other day, I went out to run the slide out, and it is making a popping/banging noise while going out. I also noticed the bottom of the slide wall was sticking out 3-4 inches from the inside wall, while the top was touching. Could the gear have jumped the teeth on the rail? I thought I would be doing my Float side this year, but this issue has me concerned,

Hey Bob, thanks for reaching out!
Yeah, it sounds like something is going on with the gears. If this is the first time that you've messed with the slide out since replacing parts then I would be concerned that you didn't use exact replacements and maybe the gear ratio doesn't match what you used to have.
You'll need to get into all of the parts you replaced to see where the issue might be. If you aren't comfortable troubleshooting that on your own then I recommend taking your Jayco to a trusted dealer/trailer shop so their techs can physically inspect and fix everything for you.

Jon, Thanks for responding to my questions. I did put all new parts on, with the correct number of teeth. I installed the 1" 16 tooth hex bore gears, new bearing blocks with bearings and rails. I measured so that the frame was the same distance out from the wall on the top and bottom. I placed an order this morning with all the new parts again before I take it apart again. Bob
