The B&W has mount plates are on the outside of the truck frame and, that long Latch Pin Handle above the driver's side plate. Will the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs # AL88338 kit, particularly the U-bolts work on my truck?

You are correct the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1016 is going to be different than the kit which fit the 2015 models. Air Lift updated their LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs # AL88338 to also be able to be installed without the U-bolts. There is an additional hole on the mounting bracket which allows you to drill into the frame and install a self tapping bolt. So you will be able to use both on your 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD.
