Recommended Trailer Hitch And Wiring For A 2015 Mazda CX-5
Question:
I have a 2015 Mazda CX-5. Im looking at the potential hitches. Mazda says that my towing capacity is 2,000. But when I look at your hitches, it shows much higher weights. Im guessing that 2000 is the max I should tow regardless of my hitch, right?

Hey Erin,
Yes, just because the hitch is rated higher doesn't mean that the vehicle can actually handle the weight so you would go with whichever capacity is lower to safely tow. For your 2015 Mazda CX-5 I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98902. If you plan on towing a trailer then you'll also need to pick up the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118563 to transfer your light signals to the trailer.
