Troubleshooting An OL Error On A Tekonsha BRAKE-EVN Trailer Brake Controller # TK63VR
Question:
Installed a Tekonsha 8507120 timed brake controller on 2004 Ford Excursion. Everything seems to work, but when I start truck with out a trailer hooked up controller flashes OL. Ran new blue wire to be sure no bad spots and still have OL when truck is running without any trailer. Any suggestions, Tekonsha wont respond.

Hey Randy,
If you're getting an 'OL' (overload) error on your Tekonsha BRAKE-EVN Trailer Brake Controller # TK63VR when the trailer isn't connected then you likely have a bad ground on the Excursion. When connected to the trailer you're probably getting ground from it and that's clearing the OL issue. I would check the wire harness ground to make sure you're getting a good connection to the frame.
