Under Bed 5th Wheel Rail Kit and Slider Hitch Recommendation for a 2000 Toyota Tundra 6 ft Bed

Question:

I have a 2000 Toyota Tundra 4WD Limited. This kit specifies it will only work with the 8ft bed. Ive contacted Reese, and they say that it was never engineered for the 6ft bed until the 07 models. Does anyone have any experience knowing how much if any custom work will need to be done to make this fit?

I have an underbed fifth wheel hitch setup I can recommend, but there isn't a safe way I could recommend you modify the Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit # RP30078 that you referenced so that it would fit your 2000 Toyota Tundra with a short bed.
