Tips for Tapping Into 8mm Vacuum Line In 2024 Ram 1500 For Installing Demco Air-Force One
Question:
I’m moving my AF1 into a new 2024 Ram 1500. The vacuum system is all 8mm line with 2 OEM check valves, one directly between engine and booster. The AF1 check valves are too big. Can I tee into 8 mm lines then use 3/8 check valve? Or tap in behind OEM check valve? Pic available. Thank you!

Hey Rob,
Yes you can use a Tee. You want to keep the check valves in the same location in the vacuum line, but I've included a cut-out from Demco that shows how to adapt to different sized lines.

Samual, thanks for the reply. I’ve installed the AF1 on several vehicles and I believe your cutout picture would work, except, this pre molded OEM vacuum hose array has sharp bends every few inches. There is just not enough room for the suggested setup without pushing the OEM lines into the exhaust manifold or kinking it. There is one small section that branches off the booster mainline and goes to an emissions device. It might be possible to use the suggested array there, but it would be behind another OEM check valve, so I’m pretty iffy about trying it there. I would love to send you a picture because I wonder if the setup changed this model year?
