Where Does the Probe Install for Derale Adjustable Fan-Control Thermostat with Radiator Hose Probe
Question:
I want to replace the Derale temperature switch in my classic Mustang, the previous owner simply wedged the temperature sensor next to the inlet hose between the radiator fins, is that a horrible idea?

Depending on the probe being used, there can be more than one way to install it. The probe for # D16769 is supposed to go inside the radiator hose as shown in the diagrams in the instructions I have linked for you. For this probe, if it was not in contact with the coolant you would not begetting an accurate reading.
