Question:
how do I keep the suction cups from falling off?

A suction cup can be affected by several things including dirt, uneven surfaces, and temperature. First, make sure the area you are attaching the suction cup to is clean by using some rubbing alcohol to clean the surface. Also make sure the suction cup is clean.
The surface will need to be as flat as possible. An uneven surface can cause only parts of the suction cup to make contact with the surface which would lead to it falling off.
Heat can make the rubbery material of the suction cups more pliable. Direct sunlight will raise the temperature of the glass and could cause the suction cup to expand and lose its grip. The temperature should not get too hot on the inside of the vehicle glass so I do not think this would be an issue in most climates.
