Swing Away Hitch Extender Allowing Rear Doors On a Mercedes Sprinter To Open When Loaded
Question:
I am looking for a swing away hitch extender to mount on a Mercedes Sprinter van to hold a tray rack that i carry my etrike. i need a swing away so that i can move the tray so that i can open the rear doors. I would like a swing away that is rigid mount to the vehicle so it does not shake and has minimum extension away from the vehicle to minimize parking length and reduces drag on slopes. hopefully you can suggest several products that fit the requirements thanks

I recommend using the Yakima BackSwing # Y02483 with your Carrier # FHG69ZR behind your Mercedes Sprinter van. As you can see in the image below with a bike rack it will allow you to open the rear doors when swung out.
While we have other options like the Kuat # PVP20B or Saris # SAR36VR, Kuat says theirs can only be used with a Kuat bike rack and I prefer the BackSwing construction over the Saris.
