Recommended Electric Trailer Jack For A Jayco Jay Flight SLX 174BH Travel Trailer

Question:

I’m looking at an electric tongue jack for my Jayco trailer 174BH. I only need a 3500 pound lift. I have been looking at the Lippert and Bulldog. Is one better made or do you recommend something else. I only camp about 6 or 7 times a year. So I don’t need the greatest thing made.

Hey Kirk,

When it comes to electric trailer jacks the I always recommend a jack that I know we can find replacement parts for. Jacks sit outside and take a ton of abuse with the weather so they often break down after a handful of years so be able to fix rather than replace can save you a lot of money in the long run.

Lippert tends to not offer any replacement parts for their jacks so you'd be looking at a total replacement each time. Bulldog typically has replacement parts but does end up discontinuing them or having them backordered a lot. Because of this I typically recommend the etrailer Electric Trailer Jack # EJ-3520-BBX (black) or white # EJ-3520-WBX.

These jacks are competitively priced and we're able to source parts for them so that you can make repairs without breaking the bank. If you add on the cover # UF38-944020 you were looking to protect the jack head you should set for a long time.
