Installing Brake Controller on 2020 GMC Canyon With Tow Package

How do i install a brake controller on my 2020 GMC Canyon Denali that has tow package but no brake controller on dash,

Hi Harold,

When installing a brake controller like the Prodigy P3 # 90195 or Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR on your 2020 GMC Canyon with the tow package, all you need to do is connect the wiring that comes with those controllers to the wires already run under your dash.

I did some searching and found that on page 211 of the Canyon owner's manual it says a four-wire harness is secured behind the left side kick panel (which is the driver's side), and here are the wires in your truck (though please double-check you version of the manual to be sure).

- Red/Green: Battery feed
- Black: Ground
- White/Blue: Brake signal to controller
- Blue: Trailer Brake power to trailer connector
