Does Atwood RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Detector # AT36681 Have Internal Battery Backup
Question:
AT36681 does this have back-up power? When I power off my RV coach low battery alarm goes off. It stops when I turn the coach back on. It never used to do that with the coach battery off.

Hey Joe, so the Atwood RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Detector # AT36681 doesn't have an internal battery but it has two power wires so that you could wire it to auxiliary battery as a backup for when the main RV battery gets low. My guess is that if you got behind the detector and traced the wiring you'd see that there is a second wire that it is ran to an aux battery that is probably dead now and in need of charging or replacing.

I understood your first comment. BUT...About the second comment are you saying I should replace the unit (it is 2 years old) OR wire the second power wire to the chassis battery?
