Hi Rickey,
Weight distribution hitches typically have a tongue weight range that they are compatible with and it's best to stick around the middle of that range to give yourself a buffer zone if you're going to load more than usually or when the trailer is empty. Going outside of that range will eliminate the benefit of the hitch and can actually cause more issues.
If you want a wider range the B&W Continuum Weight Distribution System # BW78FR has the largest range at 600lbs to 1,600lbs. This hitch uses a hydraulic pump to easily adjust the tension and level out your tow vehicle in just a few seconds. This system has the most versatility but comes with a much higher price tag because of that. If you have a price range you'd like to stick to or you have a hitch you've already been looking at let me know and we can discuss the best options for your setup.
