Question:

I have a 22 Gulfstream Kingsport 199RK, single axle TT that is currently weighing around 5K lbs. Im interested in upgrading my suspension and need some guidance on which products I should be considering. Hey Mike,

I think we can help you out here, and for your single axle Gulf Stream, because your leaf spring is an issue and you are concerned about rubbing, the best bet would be SumoSprings for trailers. These work as shocks, and what they do is stabilize the trailer and helps reduce the pressure on your leaf springs.

The right one for your trailer will depend on if you have an overslung axle - where the leaf springs will be on top of the axle - or an underslung axle - where the leaf springs will be below the axle.

- Underslung Axle: SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # TSS-106-40

- Overslung Axle: SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # TSS-107-40

The SumoSprings will make it so your leaf springs aren't under full load, and by doing so will make your trailer ride smoother while also helping with things like body roll so it'll handle better behind your tow vehicle.
