Finding the Cold Side of the Stop Light Switch for Installing a TBC

Question:

Hi I have a 1989 Chevy g30 motor home I am installing a draw type break controller it says to connect the red wire to the brake light switch my switch is a air switch to the cruise controller and 4 or 5 wires coming off the cruise controller so we’re do I connect it to thanks for your help Ronnie

Hey Ronnie, so to connect your brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 to your stop light switch, you're going to need to find the wire that only gets power when the brakes are pressed.

Once this wire is identified, you'd need to connect the red wire to this and then the black to the positive battery, white to the ground wire, and then blue to the trailer brake.
