Troubleshooting Stabilizer Jack that Seems to Short Out RV Power System When Operated
Question:
I have a 2022 Winnebago 2529RG travel trailer. One of the stabilizer bars wil go down but not up. When attempting to go up the interior lights an A/C stop as if a large power draw. This is when on shore power. What do I need to fix the switch/jack. It does work easily with the manual “wrench” tool

Hey Dennis, it sounds like a bad motor which is drawing too much and causing the "brown out" you described or there happens to be a short on the wiring of the motor to the frame which is creating the draw. I would first go over the wiring to the motor to see if you can find and fix any obvious shorts. If there's nothing there it would be time for a replacement motor. I don't know what model of stabilizer jacks you have though so it's hard for me to say what replacement motor you would need without more info.

Thanks for the reply. Pretty much what I had guessed and hoped not. I’ve already checked the wiring as that seemed obvious - no issue that I could readily see. So…. more money ??. Nature of these beasts it seems
