If Reese Brakeman IV Trailer Brake Controller Flashes OL Intermittently Could the Controller Be Bad?
Question:
I have a Reese brakeman IV box that registers the brake settings at times and then other times flashes an OL code. I have traced wires and found no loose connections or bad wires. Could the box itself be bad?

Yes, Patrick. Your Reese Brakeman IV could be bad but since you mentioned it is intermittent those issues are typically always with the wiring either on the truck or trailer shorting out. The good news is the Brakeman does use the common Tekonsha style wiring connector so if you know of anyone with a Tekonsha # 90195 or Reese brake controller you could try swapping them out to see if you can get the problem to replicate on either vehicle. This would allow you to know for certain which is the issue.
