Can Timbren SES Jounce Springs Be Replaced If Using A Weight Distribution Hitch
Question:
I just installed this unit and we towed about 150 miles away. I am very pleased so far. My question is , I have the timbren bump stops installed on my truck and I have hated them from day one. They ruined the ride of my truck when Im not towing, can I remove these now that I have this weight distribution hitch? And install the factory bump stops back in ?

Hey Pat,
I've got some first-hand experience with this myself recently so I understand the ride quality issues. Timbren SES jounce springs work independently from a weight distribution hitch so you can definitely remove them and reuse your factory bump stops and use the Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution # BLU75FR to help prevent your rear end from sagging.
I recently put some SumoSpring jounce springs on my truck because I've been hauling heavy and know that my shocks are coming to the end of their lifespan. The immediate difference in my unloaded ride quality made me realize those shocks were done a long time ago and I need to swap them out. These Sumo's offered me a much softer ride and I no longer had a harsh bang every bump in the road I ran over.
Timbren's are great for heavy duty applications but are just too stiff when the job is done and you're back to focusing on ride quality. If you can tell me the year/make/model of your tow vehicle I'd be happy to pick out the correct set of Sumo's so that every time you drive it's enjoyable.
