Do Flex Air Pin Boxes Come In Different Lengths To Avoid Hitting The Bedrails

Question:

Do the flexairs have different pin to bolt length options? I replaced a 1621 with the 21k flexair which has the 3" increase in pin length and yes, the pin box now runs the bed rails. I could raise the hitch but I had to bottom my hitch height to keep the camper level.

Hey Brent,

These pin boxes are only separated by bolt pattern so there wouldn't be a different version that would fit under the same model that would have a shorter length. If the truck is sitting too high for you to adjust the hitch head up higher to clear the bedrails then the next option would be to raise the height of the trailer. If your leaf springs sit below your axles you can use an over under conversion kit # K71-385-00 (3" diameter axle tubes) to raise the height of the trailer by the diameter of the axle and the height of the leaf spring stack.

Once the trailer sits higher you can then raise the height of the hitch so that the pin box will clear the bed rails, while still keeping the trailer level.
