Replacement Electric Jack for ATC Quest CH405 Car Trailer

Question:

Good morning, I own an ATC 24 foot CH405 enclosed car trailer. Its GVWR is 10,500. I am looking to replace the hand crank jack with an electric one. Id like it to be a side mount if possible so that I can open the tailgate of the pickup without resistance. The trailer is aluminum including the floor joists that make up the tongue portion of the trailer and what I will ultimately be mounting the electric jack to. Can you give me a few options and price points. The Fulton XLT is a bit pricey.

Your typical electric jack is designed to fit an A-frame so the only one we carry that is a side mount is the Fulton XLT # F141401. However, you may be interested in the Trailer Valet JXS Drill Powered Swivel Trailer Jack # TV64FR.

This jack has a hand crank along with a drill adapter so a cordless drill can be used to power it. It fits frames up to 4-3/4" tall x 3-3/4" deep so make sure your frame isn't too tall. Also, the drill lift capacity is 1,250 lbs so depending on what you have in the trailer the tongue weight might higher which would require the manual handle giving it a 5,000 lb capacity. Outside of that, the only other option would be to use an A-frame electric jack like the # EJ-3520-BBX.
