Need New Hubs And Brake Assemblies For A 2003 Airliner Camper With A 2,000 lb Axle
Question:
I need brakes and drum assembly for a 2003 Aliner camper. As far as I know, I have 7 1/4 inch Dexter brakes and a 2000 pound axle. Help please.

Good morning Janine. The 2,000 lb axles generally will use the 7 x 1-1/4 Inch assemblies like part # AKEBRK-2 along with a 7" drum. Most 2,000 lb axles will have a straight spindle that uses either the # L44649 (1.063" inner diameter) bearings or a # L44643 (1" inner diameter) bearings. I do not have a way to know exactly what bearing size your 2003 Airliner Camper uses, so your best bet will be to remove one of the hubs and unpack the bearings. Each bearing should have a number stamped on the edge, or you can measure the ID with a micrometer to confirm the size.
For example, the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-2-EZ-2K is quite common for the 2,000 lb axles and it uses the # L44649 (1.063" inner diameter) bearings. It also has the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern which is fairly standard. If you can drop your bearing size and hub bolt pattern in the comments below, I am happy to confirm fitment for you.

I went ahead and ordered the L44649 as this is what someone on an Aliner forum suggested. Hoping it is correct as it has already been shipped. Didn’t realize the bearings were stamped and could have told me. I had one out yesterday.
