Can The Shank Of A Weight Distribution Hitch Be Placed In The Rise Position

Can this hitch be used as a rise hitch. My trailer is taller than my tow vehicle?

Hi Erin,
Yes, you just need to flip the shank up and the bolt on the head of the Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution # RE44FR. If you haven't purchased a weigh distribution hitch (WDH) before then you'll want to first measure your trailer's fully loaded tongue weight. Each system has a tongue weight range that they're rated for and you'll want to be as close to the middle of that range as possible to give yourself enough wiggle room when the load changes with the trailer.
From there you can start looking at different mounting styles and choose a standard system or one that has sway control. I've attached a couple of help articles below that can help walk you through the process, but I'm still available if you need help picking out the right WDH for your setup.
