What Does Base Plate Kit Look Like on a 2014 Honda CR-V

Question:

Im looking at towing base plates, one for Honda CR-Vs, the install photos are difficult to figure out since everything is black. I *suggest* that you consider painting such parts a bright color white, red, etc. so that they stand out in the photos. After installation, the visible parts can be painted black again, or they might have painted the color of the vehicle to begin with and not need repainting.

Hey Jim, thanks for reaching out!

The install photos we have posted on our site, like for the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521567-5 you were looking at, are taken during the installation process on a customer's vehicle so spraying the base plate kit and then repainting it once it's on the vehicle isn't as practical (although I do see where you're coming from). If you use the still photos in conjunction with our installation video (for your example both would be on a 2014 Honda CR-V) it could help you define what exactly you're looking at.

I'm also attaching a photo of what the base plate looks like on the front of a CR-V and I've highlighted the tabs yellow to help them stand out a little more against the black bumper. If you aren't comfortable doing this type of installation on your own, I've attached a link to our installer locator tool that will show you any shops we work with in your area that can do base plate installs. Just input your zip code into the tool and the list will populate!
