Troubleshooting A Furrion Replacement AC Unit That's Tripping The Freeze Sensor In A Coleman System
Question:
Now that Ive installed the furrion chill, I think the zone controller was also damaged. The system runs for less than a minute before I get a red lights on the diagnostics for coil temp statusinch and for coil freeze active. There are 3 zones in my 5th wheel and this is for zone 2. What parts will I need? It replaced a Coleman RVP/Airxcel - Air Conditioner Model 46515 Series

Hi Brian,
The Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup # FR82PV is plugging into your Coleman controller so you'd need to replace it with the same model Coleman controller in order for the rest of the system to properly function. We unfortunately don't carry the Coleman brand so you'd have to go to them directly in order to get a replacement. There's typically a freeze sensor that needs to connect to the coils, typically around the middle. If you have this in a bad spot where the sensor could be getting cool air blown over it then that could also cause this error. I'd check with Coleman to see what they say about the sensor, you might just need to replace only it and can save some money versus buying a whole new controller.
