Best Camper Tie Downs For A 2022 Ford F350 Short Bed With AMP Research Powered Running Boards

Question:

Will these fit on a 2022 F350 Shortbed with upgraded AMP research auto step ladders instead of the factory running boards? TLF2022A and TLF3008A?

Hello Zach. The TorkLift Tie Downs # TLF2022A and # TLF3008A will work with your 2022 Ford F-350 short bed but the front tie downs will not be compatible with the AMP Research Powered Running Boards as they will get in the way of each other. You would have to remove the running boards in order to install the Torklift front tie downs. The rear ones will fit fine as long as you have a factory installed hitch with an open ended crosstube.

If you want to keep your running boards the best option would be to use bed mounted tie downs like the Brophy # HSWB.

Thank you. Due to their location they block the mounting of the frame brackets? Would they work if they didn’t deploy while the frame mounts were on?

@Zach Are your AMP running boards cab length only? Or do they extend wheel-to-wheel? If they are cab length only, the Torklift front tie downs # TLF2022 will work fine. For the wheel-to-wheel running boards we have heard that the brackets can obstruct each other and that the steps will contact, or at least rub on the tie downs when the steps deploy. You could try disconnecting the steps from power so they do not deploy, but even then, I cannot guarantee they will work together due to potential interference from the brackets.

@JesseM they are only the cab length ones that tuck underneath. I’ve got they to not cover any portion of where the bed itself starts and end roughly 2inches before the bed.

@Zach Ok Great thanks for clarifying. The # TLF2022A front tie downs will work great for you then. The only exclusion is the full length wheel-to-wheel running boards so you are good. The # TLF3008A rear tie downs will work fine as long as you have a factory installed trailer hitch with an open ended crosstube.
