Upgraded Cushioned Pin Box Recommendation for 2020 Grand Design

Question:

I want to replace the pin box on my 2020 grand design 5th wheel. It has a trail air rota flex 18000 on it now. Terribly rough ride. Serial tag on the box on the trailer is 573FR3226L3413889. The pin box width is 12, hole width is 7 7/8,head size is 15/16, of bolts is 5, distance between bolt holes top to bottom is 1inch c to c, from front row of bolt center to pin center is 16.75 and rear to pin center is 24.5. I believe this is a med length pinbox. I would like to put an air ride on it. This is what was on my previous 5th wheel. Do I have to stay with the med length pin box or am able to install a long pinbox. Would there be any advantage to that. My truck is a 2005 Dodge Ram 3500. I have a slider with installed as it is a shortbox. Which hitch would I need? I hope Ive included enough info. Thanks, Rick

Hey Rick, thanks for all of the dimensions of your pin box. Based on that you have a Lippert 1621 style which is an extended pin box and not a medium. The best cushioned pin box replacement would be the Curt Flex Air part # LC328492 which has vertical and horizontal cushioning and is considered to be the best cushioned pin box around.
