How to Use Optronics Trailer Light # STL79RB so that it would put Brakes/Blinkers for Cargo Carrier
Question:
I would like to install this on a 6500 cargo carrier behind my 2014 Acura RDX with a Class I hitch. How many lights light for right or left turn and brake? All eleven for each function? Also, please explain how to wire the STL79RB for use with a 4way wire harness such as 56008. Will I need a 9653P loop extension?

On the Optronics Trailer Lights # STL79RB you connect the black wire on the light to the running light circuit on the trailer, typically brown. Most trailers are wired with the brake and turn signals on the same circuit for each side, typically yellow on driver and green on passenger. You could hook one of these up to the red wire on the LED strip light, but that means that the light will also flash with the turn signal on that side.
One option is run two of these lights on your cargo carrier, one for the left side that would tap into the left side stop/turn circuit, and another for the right side stop/turn circuit.
