Availability of 5,000 lb Sidewind A-Frame Jack

Question:

I need an A Frame bolt on side wind 5000lbs manual trailer tongue Jack. There are several choices, but I need one that is durable, reliable, and long lasting. The one that came on my travel trailer only lasted 2 1/2 years, and failed on a slope with the weight distribution trunion bars attached.

We actually only have one jack that fits all of those requirements. That is the Round A-Frame Trailer Jack # TJA-5000S-B. This is a sidewind jack with a lift capacity of 3,000 lbs and support capacity of 5,000 lbs. I wouldn't expect the jack to fail as long as you're using it as intended. If you are on enough of a slope and all of the weight of your trailer shifts to the jack you will likely have a problem. Make sure to use wheel chocks like # 288-02011-2 and leveling blocks like # A10-0920 to keep your trailer level.

Trailer was chocked and did not move. That had nothing to do with the Jack failure.

@Randal thanks for clarifying. I only added that to cover everything since I don't know what the situation was. It wasn't intended to call you out for doing something you shouldn't do. Someone else might fail to do so and that information would be helpful to them if they end up on this answer page with a similar problem.
