How to Find Max Travel Trailer Weight a 2016 Ram 2500 V6 Can Safely Tow

My truck is two 2016 dodge laramie v6 3 quarter ton. What is the allowage weight of a travel trailer that my truck can pull?

For whatever reason the big truck manufacturers like to hide these weight ratings online (I can't even find the Ram towing guide at this point in time) but we have another way for you to figure this out with information that already exists on your 2016 Ram 2500.

Open up your driver's side door and look for 2 numbers listed as "GCWR" and "GVWR". The GVWR rating is how much your truck can weight by itself while the GCWR rating is how much your truck and trailer can weight together.

Find your GCWR and subtract the GVWR number from it and this will tell you the most a trailer can weight for you to safely tow.

I also recommend referencing your owner's manual for any guidance on how weight inside your truck can influence the max weight of the trailer you can tow.

Awesome, you're right.I have to look online.. It says it's just over seven thousand pounds for my 1500. Ok The little book that I get with my truck does not have it.It says refer to this truck dot com online thing. Thank you for getting back to me.I really appreciate it. Yolanda
